An Australian range of PVC-free environmental and safety conduit will be used in an eco-friendly city being built in Abu Dhabi.

Evcco's PVC-Free Environmental and Safety Conduit was selected for use in the Middle East's Masdar Eco City Project, which is being built to showcase the world's best zero waste, carbon neutral sustainable development.

Evcco conduit is used in diameters up to 150 mm to carry electrical and data cabling in surface and in-ground applications. The conduit offers low carbon footprints and minimal green house gas emissions whilst retaining the polymer's inherent characteristics of light weight and high impact resistance.

Evcco manufacturer Albatech Pty Ltd said that the selection of Evcco for the Masdar Eco City Project is a tremendous boost for the product's green star sustainable building credentials. The six million square metre development will include the world's greenest commercial buildings and be a model for global development.

A spokesperson from Albatech said "The fact that the product has been selected for Masadar gives it tremendous credibility among specifiers for green buildings everywhere, including architects, engineers and building professionals worldwide."

The Evcco conduit was also recently recognised for innovation at the Big 5 exhibition held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in November last year.
