Background

Abstruct of Chinese Society for Urban Studies Chinese Society for Urban Studies which was officially established in 1984 (English name: Chinese Society for Urban Studies, abbreviation for CSUS,) is voluntarily composed of experts, scholars, practitioners engaged in urban scientific research, relevant departments relating to Urban Society, economy, culture, environment, Urban planning, construction and management and research, education, development units etc.,is registered as a nationwide, academic and public service based legal institute, is an important social force in developing the science and technology of China's Urban scientific research. The current chairman of the society is Dr. Qiu Baoxing, Vice Minister of MOHURD, P.R. China and the secretary-general is Li Xun, Vice President of China Academy of Urban Planning and Design. Chinese Society for Urban Studies has established seven professional committee: small and medium-sized city branch, historical and cultural city professional committee, urban construction files information professional committee, the green building and energy saving professional committee, ecological city research professional committee, digital city professional committee, housing policy and market regulation and study professional committee. 100 local Societies for Urban Studies was estabished nationwide in provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) and cities, and individual members are more than 1,6000.
