Mr. Li Wenhua graduated from Beijing Forestry University in 1953. He got his doctor’s degree from USSR Academy of Sciences in 1961. He is Academician of both Chinese Academy of Engineering and International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. Mr. Li is now serving as Researcher of Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences; Honorary Professor & Master of School of Environment and Natural Resources, Renming University; President of Ecological Society of China; and Vice President of Chinese Society of Agricultural Environmental Protection. He used to act as President of International Council of Man and Biosphere Program (MAB) held by United Nations; Member of Environmental Committee, International Council of Scientific Unions; and Deputy Director of Commission for Integrated Survey of Natural Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Mr. Li Wenhua mainly focuses on Forest Ecosystems, Natural Protection, Ecological Development, Ecological Agriculture and Agriculture & Forestry Composite Management. Having worked in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and southwestern China for many years, Mr. Li has published more than 20 academic works, including <Tibetan Forest>, <Chinese Natural Protection Areas>, <Ecological Agriculture: Theory & Practice of Chinese Sustainable Development>, etc. He has also more than 200 theses published so far in his career. Entitled to “Scientist of Outstanding Contributions” by State Council, Mr. Li is also the Chief Editor of <Journal of Natural Resources> and <AMBIO>(Chinese Version) of Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. |
