Green Cyclicity, Inclusive Resilience, Harmonious Livability

The year of 2016 is a crucial year for Chinese Government to implement the 13th Five-Year Plan and a decisive stage in finishing building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. It is also a very important year to improve new type urbanization and convey the spirit of Central Urban Work Conference, as well as tackle the challenges of sustainable development working together with world community. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development passed by the United Nations, which provides urban development targets featuring inclusiveness, safety, resilience and sustainability. The Central Urban Work Conference, which was held for the second time by Chinese leaders in 37 years, aims to encourage local governments to integrate their various types of urban plans into a single master plan, enhance urban planning, design and construction level, promote ecological restoration and city repair, reinforce sponge city and utility tunnel construction, advocate resources recycling use, optimize urban traffic, largely complete renovation of shantytowns, underdeveloped areas in cities, and dilapidated housing, so as to improve the urban management level.
