Seminar Selected
Climate Change and Low-Carbon Cities
Title of presentation
English: A Green Roadmap for Cities
Chinese: 城市绿色发展路线图
Abstract of presentation
English:Cities worldwide are a major contributor to Green-House-Gas emissions: with home to half of the human population, cities contribute to around three quarters of the global emissions. With China’s cities growing in size and number at an unprecedented pace, there will be much more challenges in relation to energy-consumption and carbon emissions coming up. Chinese municipalities will therefore continue to play a major role in the national energy-development. Cities are the right addressees, if it comes to climate-changes measures and green development initiatives. Green-Roadmaps for Chinese Cities may provide a path towards Climate-Friendly Urban Development in China.
