个人简介(A Short Bio):
nglish: Falk Kagelmacher spent more than 10 years in Beijing and more than 13 years in China. He received his Master of Architecture Degree from Hong Kong University (HKU) in 1995. He received his German Engineering in Architecture Degree in 1997, he received his Post-Graduate Degree from ETH Zurich in 2001.
For more than six years, Falk Kagelmacher has worked for the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) in Beijing, China.
As a Senior Advisor, he consulted the CAUPD in Sustainable Urban Development, Urban Mobility and Climate-Change issues. Under the CAUPD, he and his team performed research and published a number of publications on urban development and community involvement. In 2009 he and the CAUPD received a China National Documentary Film Award for a documentary film about a community-planning research project at the CAUPD.
He worked for a German (GIZ) Cooperation Project in Ukraine, as a Project Manager on a climate-friendly urban transport concepts.
He was Project Manager for a Swiss Government Cooperation Project (Swiss Development Corporation, SDC) on Green Building Road-maps for Chinese Municipalities.
He performs research and consultancy for German and Chinese clients in the field of sustainable development and sustainable lifestyle issues.
Currently he teaches Urban Design at the Chongqing University and Project Management Asia for the University of Konstanz, Germany.

Abstract:
The actual rate of global urbanization and the expectations on modern, seamless, comfortable, public, individual and efficient transport brings huge challenges on the principles of urban mobility.
Mobility became a world-wide Megatrend - it is a crucial part of a modern and sustainable lifestyle.
All stake-holders involved in current transport issues need to redefine the term “Mobility”. Planners, designers, specialists from all related sectors and the industry need to develop new ways to provide modern, sustainable, effortless and environmental-friendly systems. The layout of our cities need to be considered in order to provide eco-friendly mobility. Urban density, public and individual transport, behavior habits, the living and working patterns of a modern society are interconnected and are playing hand in hand.
This article is based on urgent issues of urban mobility and the current development pressure. The article will discuss modern systems and a possible future scenario for a mobile society.
