演讲摘要:Successful cities of the 21st Century will be based on Eco-City principles. Cities in China and the U.S. are beginning to adopt energy efficiency, renewable energy and successful, green strategies. These strategies include zero energy buildings, renewables, municipal waste as a resource, and integrated green urban design. Cities in China and the U.S. are working together on a common set of Eco-City Guidelines to address their shared problems. Columbus and Hefei, Chicago and Shanghai and Charlotte and Langfang have established partnerships looking at energy solutions. There are eight Guidelines that address: 1) comprehensive energy planning, 2) compact mixed use communities, 3) green building standards, 4) renewable energy, 5) clean, efficient transportation, 6) industrial ecology, 7) clean municipal sanitation systems, and 8) effective municipal operations. Together, these strategies can help create new Eco-Cities in China and help rebuild America’s urban core to be clean, green and successful
