个人简介:Mark Ginsberg served as a senior government official for three decades at the State level and with the U.S. Department of Energy. He pioneered the use of energy efficiency and renewable energy in cities. Mr. Ginsberg oversaw energy and solar programs and helped make the connection between energy efficiency and economic development. He pioneered the Energy Conscious Community Program and served as an officer on the Conference of Local Energy Officials, Western Interstate Energy Board and National Association of State Energy Officials. He launched the research effort that lead to the goal of Zero Energy Buildings to be cost competitive by 2020 and developed early concepts for Zero Energy Communities or Eco-Cities. He granted the first funding for the USGBC’s LEED and the Solar Decathlon and he led the Greening of the White House in 1993. He led DOE’s international energy efficiency and renewable efforts, particularly with China and India. He launched Ginsberg Green Strategies in 2012 to advance his commitment to making cities of the future green, clean and successful. Mr. Ginsberg has received numerous recognitions for his work. The US Green Building Council established a Ginsberg Fellow to pursue his research goals and the Alliance to Save Energy presented its Lifetime Achievement Award to him. Ginsberg was one of 25 initial inductees into the Energy Efficiency Forum Hall of Fame. In December 2011, Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu, presented Ginsberg with the Distinguished Career Service Award.
